Bio
Lieutenant Colonel Grant B. Harwell is the Deputy Chief, Asset Management Division, Directorate of Civil Engineers, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Arlington, Virginia. In this role, he leads a diverse staff of 24 professionals responsible for policy, oversight, and guidance of Air Force Housing, Dorms, Environmental, and Real Property accountability supporting 177 bases and installations worldwide with a replacement value more than $670 billion. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Commander of the 435th Construction and Training Squadron, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Lieutenant Colonel Harwell entered the Air Force in 2005 as a graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. His experience encompasses installation tours of duty in the US, Europe, and the Pacific, including headquarters staff positions at the Joint, Major Command, Numbered Air Force, and Civil Engineer Field Operating Agency levels. contingency operations in Afghanistan, the Philippines, Djibouti, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.
