Bio
Jeremy Fisher, PhD, collaborates with state, federal, and legal teams on emerging electricity system issues, as well as oil and gas transitions. Among his many initiatives, Jeremy spearheaded a national effort that secured $10 billion in federal funding to help rural electric cooperatives transition to clean energy. Jeremy also leads Sierra Club’s work on developing state and federal financial tools to support utility decarbonization, reshaping electricity market rules to prioritize clean energy, and advising on complex utility regulatory matters. Before joining Sierra Club, Jeremy was a principal at Synapse Energy Economics, where he worked with state regulatory commissions, environmental advocates, and federal agencies to develop policies that reduce costs and protect climate and health outcomes. He is the lead author of "Demanding Better," Sierra Club’s initial assessment of data-center energy impacts and policy solutions.
