EMMA RAULT is a writer and a translator from Dutch and German. Her essays about place and belonging have appeared in Guernica, New York Magazine, the LA Review of Books and elsewhere. In San Pedro, she serves on the Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council, works with feral cats and crews a sailboat. As a transplant from halfway across the world, she is endlessly fascinated with LA’s singular history, and in constant pursuit of its pockets of beauty, quiet and kinship.
