Adrian Dally
Director of Motor Finance and Strategy, Finance & Leasing Association
Adrian Dally is Director of Motor Finance and Strategy at the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA). Before joining the FLA, Adrian spent 26 years in the Civil Service in Whitehall and diplomatic roles, specialising in a number of areas including financial services, consumer protection, rural policy, competition and the European Union.

Among other things, he was a UK negotiator in the EU institutions and private secretary to two cabinet ministers. His last role was at the Financial Ombudsman Service, where he was its Head of Policy.

Jonathan Butler

Jonathan Butler is a leading automotive law specialist and joint head of the Automotive team at Geldards LLP. With over 20 years of experience advising major motor retailers, manufacturers and finance providers, Jonathan is described in Legal 500 UK 2020 as a “powerhouse”.

He also serves as legal counsel to the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA), which seeks to protect the interests of businesses involved in the used car market for the greater good of the re-marketing sector. He is a member of LawInSport and ranked in Legal 500 UK as a Leading Individual and Recommended Lawyer for Dispute Resolution in the East Midlands.

Dr Julius Grower
Associate Professor of Law, University of Oxford; Ann Smart Fellow and Tutor in Law, St Hugh’s College, Oxford
Julius is an academic lawyer at Oxford University who specialises in equity and commercial law. He has particular interests in (and has regularly published upon) the law of bribery and the law of breach of fiduciary duty. Julius’ work has been cited by courts in England and Canada and it was put forward to the Supreme Court in April as part of the three-day hearings. In February this year, Julius had a two-part article on the Johnson/Wrench/Hopcraft litigation (co-written with barrister William Day (of 3VB Chambers) published in the Journal of International Financial and Banking Law. Tom Petty
Risk Assurance Director, RSM UK Consulting
Tom has over 17 years’ financial services experience supporting firms across a range of sectors with regulatory matters. Prior to joining RSM, Tom worked for two ‘Big 4’ consultancy Firms, where he specialised in regulatory compliance and risk management within the Banking, Insurance and Consumer Credit sectors.

In one of his last roles, he was part of the team which worked on the FCA investigation into Motor Finance Discretionary Commissions so has first hand experience of the observations identified. Tom is actively supporting a range of Firms on understanding the impacts of the recent rulings and helping them prepare for any future redress scheme.
