Mike Pickering
Mike Pickering is currently working in the role of Director (Pavements, Research and Innovation) in the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads and is the department’s representative on the Austroads Pavements Task Force. Mike is also the Austroads Project Manager for the APT6391 Update to Guide to Pavement Technology Part 4B: Asphalt project and is representing Austroads in this webinar.
Joe Grobler
Joe has over 20 years’ experience in pavement engineering and is the National Transport Research Organisation’s (NTRO) subject matter expert in asphalt technology. Since joining the NTRO in 2016, he has been the lead investigator on several strategically significant asphalt research projects including crumb rubber modified asphalt, high modulus asphalt (known as EME2), warm mix asphalt, ant-stripping technologies, asphalt performance relationships and technical specifications.
As the Agreement Manager for the National Asset Centre of Excellence (NACOE), Joe also oversees the delivery of a major research program in collaboration with the Queensland Department of Transport in Main Roads. The program is primarily aimed at enhancing the resilience, sustainability and safety of Queensland’s road network in a cost-effective and productive manner.
