Session description:

Central to achieving the QUEX Institute vision is nurturing and expanding a strong network of developing connections and collaborations between the two partners. In doing so, seeking to support our researchers into positions where they are able to leverage external research funding for collaborative research projects from relevant agencies and partners, to enhance the longevity and sustainability of both their and the Institute’s research endeavours.

In support of this, seed funding has been allocated to new collaborative research projects through 18 Initiator and eight Accelerator Grants awarded to date.

In this session we celebrate some of our researcher success stories that have resulted from past QUEX support, while also seeking to explore the future of the funding landscape for international collaboration.

Event overview:

Join us for a showcase of the QUEX Institute with interactive sessions to discuss ideas and explore approaches/solutions to global and local challenges. This will be a valuable opportunity for the QUEX community to come together to share knowledge and present progress of QUEX-funded projects and initiatives.

Symposium sessions will create space for academics, researchers, students and professional service staff to come together to discuss collaborative ideas and celebrate the success of the Institute to date.

There will be opportunities for Q&A/panel sessions where participants are invited to submit questions for consideration by the organising committee.

Registration for the event is free and you can select which sessions you attend.

Prof Boyd is recognised as an international expert in rehabilitation to optimise neuroplasticity, leading large randomised clinical trials (>20 RCTs, 8 funded by NHMRC) and examining longitudinal outcomes of population cohorts combining measures of brain structure and multi-modal outcomes, (3 NHMRC cohorts and 1 NIH). She has achieved >$37M in grants including CI on 14 NHMRC projects (4 as CIA, 6 as CIB, 3 as CIC) 1ARC, 1 NIH and 1 EU Horizon Grant. She has had continuous NHMRC people support, being a Research Fellow with Investigator 1 grant (2016-2025) and previous QLD Smart State Fellow.
Professor Boyd is Scientific Director of the QCPRRC, an internationally recognised team of researchers conducting clinical trials of novel interventions geared to optimising neuroplasticity, early detection of cerebral palsy, longitudinal comprehensive outcomes linked to brain structure and function. She has been an invited participant for 3 international summits on Management of CP. Prof Boyd and her research team have been awarded the most prestigious international prize for CP Research the Gayle Arnold Award on 3 occasions (2010, 2011 and 2014).
