Reflecting On Remote Teaching

ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Best evidence on supporting students to learn remotely: Reflecting on remote teaching

"We must accept that home school isn’t school, and some children will find it much harder to learn at home than others. If we follow some key principles for teaching and learning, using these as we adapt to our ‘new normal,’ we can be more hopeful that the work we set can support them more effectively." Alex Quigley EEF

As schools plan to reintegrate pupils back into the classroom, as well as continuing to provide remote learning, this webinar will explore the best evidence on supporting pupils to learn remotely. One of the key findings from the EEF's very recent rapid evidence assessment is that school closures are likely to reverse progress made to close the gap in the last decade since 2011. It also state that supporting effective remote learning will mitigate the extent to which the gap widens .
With the future looking uncertain, but likely to involve a mix of remote and classroom learning, Steve Smith, Director of HISP Research School, and will reflect on and explore the lessons learnt from teaching live online lessons.
