A major cosmetics retailer made headlines late last year when they were assessed a $1.2 million fine for failure to comply with provisions of the California Consumer Privacy Act. While California was the first state in the U.S. to enact sweeping privacy legislation, others have followed suit, and close to two dozen states have already enacted or are currently considering legislation. Complying with privacy legislation is mandatory for companies, and even if you don't consider yourself a privacy attorney, there's a good chance you're still who clients will turn to for advice. To help you keep up with the ever-changing landscape of privacy protections, Heather Antoine of Stubbs Alderton will answer questions such as:
- What do most privacy laws protect or prohibit, and what are the outliers?
- How should attorneys advise clients regarding compliance?
- What future legislation—state or federal—seems likely, and what might that mean for businesses?

Everyone who’s registered for this webinar will receive an email with a link to the recording.

This session has a pending CLE application in California. For more information about CLE credit for Alt Legal events, including whether your state qualifies, check out this page: https://www.altlegal.com/cle-information/
