The University of Birmingham has offered a part-time MSc in Industrial Project Management since 2011. In 2020 a course update added several aspects of TOC into the syllabus. These included a few tools from the Thinking Processes, an introduction to several TOC applications, and of course Critical Chain scheduling and execution management.

In this webinar, Ian Heptinstall describes the changes made, the relevance to project management, and how he tried to overcome the challenge of asynchronous learning - the course is studied by distance learning and students choose when to study. There is almost no live teaching and group work.

He will share the case of a student who learned about critical chain on the course, gave it a go at work, and saw the improvements the text books predicted.
