About
The Mental Status Examination is a core part of behavioral health assessment - but even experienced clinicians can benefit from a refresher on what to observe, what to ask, and how to document findings clearly.

Join Diane Bigler, LCSW, LSCSW, for a practical review of the MSE and how it can support stronger clinical assessment, safety evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation. You’ll explore the essential components of the exam, common documentation pitfalls, and ways to separate client report from clinician observation using objective, specific language.

What You’ll Learn
➡️ Review the core components of a comprehensive MSE
➡️ Strengthen objective, clinically useful documentation
➡️ Distinguish observation from interpretation
➡️ Avoid vague language and unsupported conclusions
➡️ Consider cultural, cognitive, medical, and safety factors
➡️ Adapt MSE documentation for telehealth encounters
