In honor of Public Service Recognition Week, AUSA is hosting a recognition ceremony featuring Yvette K. Bourcicot, Principal Deputy Assistant, Secretary of the Army (Manpower and Reserve Affairs). Ms. Bourcicot will honor Department of the Army Civilians for their exceptional performance.

Army Civilians have been an integral part of our country’s history, supporting the Army’s mission since 1776. Since our country’s inception through present day, the Army has relied on its civilian workforce to meet countless key roles in support of the warfighter.

Public Service Recognition Week will be observed May 5-11, 2024, and honors all government civilian personnel that serve our nation. Public Service Recognition Week has been celebrated during the first week of May since 1985 to honor the people who serve our nation as federal, state, county, local and tribal government employees.

Yvette K. Bourcicot
Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs Washington, D.C.
Ms. Yvette K. Bourcicot serves as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower
and Reserve Affairs. In this role, she is the primary advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the
Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs on all matters related to the Army People Strategy. She
supports the Assistant Secretary in policy development for and oversight of human resources,
training, readiness, mobilization, military health affairs, force structure, recruiting and
retention, quality of life,
equity and inclusion, civilian personnel, marketing, and other critical matters. She served as the
Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs from January 2022 to
December 2022.
