Dr. Apjit Kaur an alumnus of King George's Medical University, Lucknow,
(Upgraded King Georges Medical College), joined neuro-ophthalmology unit
at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of medical Sciences, Lucknow,
where she served for ten years in varying capacities. In 1998 she shifted back
to her Alma mater where she is presently working as Professor and HOD in
the Department Of Ophthalmology. Dr. Apjit Kaur is in charge Of the
Oculoplasty and Orbit unit and the Thyroid Eye Clinic of the Department,
providing service to patients from neighboring states and Nepal.
She is actively involved in interdisciplinary surgical work for oncology and
trauma, She is reviewer of national and international Journals. Dr. Apjit has
authored the clinico- Radiological Atlas of Orbital Disorders ( jaypee
Highlights publications ) and written chapters on Oculoplasty for various
books. She has made immense efforts to propogate awareness about the sub-
specialty of oculoplasty. by the way patient information booklets. disease
based pamphlets, and video conferencing talks, organizing clinical meetings.
The government of state of Uttar Pradesh recognized her efforts and
sanctioned one assistant Professor and two SRS for Oculoplasty. She served
the Oculoplastics Association of India as Joint Secretary and President. Apjit
Kaur qualified the Health and Hospital Management exam conducted by
IGNOU and seta new academic record in 2016.
She has receieved several state level and national awards, including the B K
Narayan Rao Award of NOS.
Academics apart, she has varied interests including gardening, vocal music
and creative handicrafts.
