Professor John Crown, MD, MBA is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin.

He is an oncology- thought leader who has published extensively in clinical and translational breast cancer research. He founded the Oncology Clinical Trials Unit at St. Vincent’s University Hospital which has developed an international leadership role in oncology clinical trials. He is also the founding member of the All-Ireland Cooperative Oncology Research Group (ICORG) and the Anglo-Celtic Cooperative Oncology Group (ACCOG). He is the Newman Clinical Research Professor in UCD's School of Medicine, and holds the Thomas Baldwin Research Chair in Translational Cancer Research at Dublin City University.

From 2011 to 2016, Professor Crown served as an independent member of Seanad Eireann (Irish Senate). With two other senators, he successfully introduced The Protection of Children's Health from Tobacco Smoke Bill (2012).
