The Gender and Sexual Diversity Advisory Board has existed in the community for over 15 years acting as a bridge and educational resource to members of the Calgary Police Service and the Calgary LGBTQ2S+ community. This presentation will provide a historical overview of the GSD Advisory Boards actions and activities, how the community can join the advisory and an introduction of the current GSD Advisory board members.

James Bellamy (He/Him) works actively in Calgary's commercial construction industry as Founding Partner of Docker Prime Design & Management. Previously James was an Instructor at Mount Royal University in the Continuing Education programs. Outside of work, James has been active in local and provincial political campaigns bringing a voice for the GSD community to elected leaders. As past President of Fairytales Film Presentation Society, he was instrumental in expanding FFPS into developing an education program that brought film into schools, organizations, and business to help educate people on understanding GSD issues. A father of four, a grandfather to one, and husband to his partner Josh, James offers a perspective of family construct in a conservative society.
Mark Randall

Mark Randall (He/Him) is the HEAT Program Coordinator with HIV Community Link in Calgary. With a focus on Gay, Bi, and MSM populations, Mark provides HIV/STI and health information, referrals, outreach, education and resources to community. With 31 years of lived experience with HIV/AIDS and a thorough understanding of the impacts of diagnosis, sero-discordant relationships, treatments, stigma and the criminalization of HIV non- disclosure, Mark brings a well-informed and passionate perspective to his work and engagement with community.
