In the latter half of 2023, there was a big shake up in digital analytics with Google Analytics so last year we surveyed over 524 businesses to see what impact that had on their digital marketing data.....and to see if the issues we encountered day to day were encountered globally.
In 2023/4 there was a reason for things to change and we noticed a lot of analytics implementations taking a step backwards which often ended up costing the businesses money - and it usually wasn't even visible to the business owners.
But did things improve in 2024?
We couldn't resist survey the companies again.
Note these business were not our clients - we chose to take a relatively random sample of tourism businesses using a variety of booking systems.
We had hoped the results had got better, but many got worse.
