About
As the transition to electric vehicles accelerates, the installation of reliable and scalable workplace charging infrastructure is becoming a critical priority for fleet operators and organisations running both cars and vans. But the journey from planning to implementation can be complex, requiring careful consideration of technical, financial, and operational challenges.

This webinar will guide you through the end-to-end process of designing and deploying a depot charging scheme that not only meets today’s needs but is also future-proof for tomorrow. Our expert speakers will explore:
• Key steps in planning and implementing a depot charging network
• Common challenges and how to overcome them
• Strategies for future-proofing infrastructure to support growth and technology change
• Opportunities for shared facilities to maximise efficiency and value
• The role of booking systems, staff charging hierarchies, and smart energy management

Whether you’re at the early planning stage or already looking to expand existing infrastructure, this session will provide practical insights, real-world examples, and proven strategies to help you deliver a successful and cost-effective charging scheme.

Andrew Gwilliam
product and propositions manager, First Bus
I joined First Bus in 2022 after spending 21 years in the automotive industry, with the last decade focused on developing zero-emission propulsion technologies, including high-voltage traction batteries.

Since joining First Bus, I’ve led several key electrification projects including those in Leicester, Bramley, and York, which collectively delivered nearly 200 zero-emission buses and the supporting infrastructure. These projects helped lay the foundation for the 1,200+ electric vehicles we now have in service.
In my current role, I’m responsible for our technology stack, roadmap, and standardisation across vehicles, chargers, and software. I ensure we’re specifying, procuring, or co-developing the right technologies to meet the needs of both our own fleet and the third-party fleets we support through our CPO sub-brand, First Charge, an area I’m also deeply involved in.

I’m passionate about decarbonisation and firmly believe that technology holds the key to a brighter, more sustainable future and that we should approach these challenges with optimism.
