Dept. Chairman of Colorectal Surgery at AdventHealth Orlando
Mark Soliman, MD, FACS, FASCRS is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon. He is the Medical Director of Colorectal Surgery for the AdventHealth Digestive Health and Surgery Institute and also the Department Chairman for Colorectal Surgery. A Florida native and a proud graduate of the University of Florida, he was part of an elite junior medical program through which he earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees with honors by age 23. After serving as Chief Resident at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, AL, he obtained his advanced subspecialty training in Colorectal Surgery at the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando. Dr. Soliman is one of the most recognized colorectal surgeons nationwide in robotic colorectal surgical operations and has written nearly 50 book chapters, scientific abstracts, and manuscripts on this and its related fields.
Dr. Matthew Albert

Dr. Albert is a member of the elite colon and rectal surgery team at AdventHealth Medical Group, which he joined in July 2004. A Fellow of both the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons and of the American College of Surgeons, his specialties include laparoscopic and robotic surgery of the colon and rectum, screening and therapeutic colonoscopy, surgery for colon and rectal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor disorders, the treatment of anorectal disease, and stomas and hernia issues. Dr. Albert's wide range of colon and rectal surgical services includes the revolutionary technique known as TAMIS (transanal minimally invasive surgery), which he helped invent. He also is credited with spearheading the development of an ACGME-accredited subspecialty training program for colon and rectal surgeons.
Dr. John Monson
Executive Director of Colorectal Surgery at AdventHealth Orlando
Dr. Monson is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon with advanced fellowship training in surgical oncology, vascular surgery and colon and rectal surgery. His areas of expertise include the use of minimally invasive technologies in colorectal cancer treatment, including transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEMS), laparoscopy and robotic surgery. In addition to his role as a leading physician with the AdventHealth Medical Group's elite colorectal surgery team, he also serves as Executive Director for Colorectal Surgery at AdventHealth in Orlando. Dr. Monson is credited with leading the development of laparoscopic colorectal surgery in the United Kingdom, and he is a former Chair of the U.K.'s National Training Program. His research encompasses a broad range of cancer-related areas including the development of national standards and qualitative assessments of decision-making in cancer care.
