Junior UX Crunch at Home: Accessibility

About This Webinar

As someone who has slow internet, I can't open this web page. As someone who is colour blind, I can't see the text on this page. As someone who is deaf, I can't hear the audio on a video.

Within UX, we often focus on our target user group and build personas and products out of a specific group of people. But what about those on the outside? Is this accessible to everyone?

In this event, we will be discussing how we can create more accessibly; thinking about those with disabilities, and the visual aspects of an interface that make it usable for all, or none.

Join us as we sit down for another fantastic evening of case studies, insight, networking and more!

The Exception Method - Innovating with an Exceptional User

Ruby Steel will talk of her experience as one of the designers on BBC Two series Big Life Fix - a show that sought to solve problems for vulnerable people across the UK. It was these stories that inspired 'The Exception Method' - a method for product innovation, using users, ordinarily excluded from the design process. By shifting the source of inspiration from the “average user” to someone with more demanding needs; the “exception" - a design team can go from everyday solutions to exceptional ideas. If you design for the average, you get average answers. If you design for the exception you get exceptional answers.
