Dr. Curran Emeruwa
Urologist Specializing in Men's Health
Curran Emeruwa, MD, is a native of Vancouver, Canada spending his undergraduate years at the University of British Columbia (UBC), graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He completed medical school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, where he graduated with high honors. His urology residency training was completed in Brooklyn, NY at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University where he served a diverse community.
Dr. Emeruwa returns to the Pacific Northwest where he is excited to bring his expertise to the Bellingham community. He is extensively trained in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of general urologic disorders, as well as urologic cancers including cancers of the prostate, kidney, bladder, and testis. He is an active member in the American Urological Association (AUA) and has authored multiple cutting-edge research articles in nocturia and voiding dysfunction.
Dr. Emeruwa is delighted to offer his patients the option of top-quality, minimally invasive surgical approaches including robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. He has performed and assisted in hundreds of both oncologic and reconstructive cases, a significant portion of them under the first-hand guidance of world-class robotic surgeons at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. He is comfortable and proficient in the performance of traditional open surgery and endoscopic procedures, as well as the treatment and management of urologic stone disease, prostate enlargement (BPH), and erectile dysfunction. Dr. Emeruwa strives to be a compassionate and caring physician by prioritizing patience and patient education. He is focused on patient-centered care, ensuring that a patient’s individual preferences, needs, and values are met when discussing treatment options.
Outside of his career, he and his wife Avery enjoy the great outdoors, traveling, and live music. They are avid sports fans and try to remain physically active in hiking or golfing. Additionally, they look to be continuously involved in various community groups and activities.
