Mary A. Burns MD, FACOG, URPS
Physician specializing in female pelvic health
Dr. Mary Antoinette Burns has had the privilege of practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Hampton Roads area since 1995. She graduated from St. George’s University, School of Medicine, in 1990. Then she completed her internship and residency, including Chief Residency, in OB/GYN in Seton Hall University, New Jersey. Dr. Burns completed her OBGYN fellowship training in Urogynecology/Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Wayne State University. This is specialized training in treating disorders of the genitourinary system such as urinary incontinence, Interstitial Cystitis, and prolapse (bulging) of the vagina, bladder and/or the uterus. She is board certified in the subspecialty of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. She has had extensive experience in surgery, cystoscopy, and urodynamics. Her passion and extensive training is in the treatment of urinary incontinence.

Katherine Hines, MD, FACOG, URPS
Physician specializing in female pelvic health
Dr. Katherine Neuffer Hines is a fellowship-trained urogynecologist. Originally from Columbia, SC, Dr. Hines attended the University of Virginia, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She then returned to South Carolina and earned her Doctor of Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She graduated magna cum laude and was awarded the Dr. Preston A. Jones Memorial Scholarship for excellence in academics. Dr. Hines was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society in March 2014. She completed her OB/GYN Residency at Wake Forest Baptist Health and served as Chief Resident. She then remained at Wake Forest for her fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

As a fellowship-trained urogynecologist, Dr. Hines has received advanced multidisciplinary training in the management of complex pelvic floor disorders, including overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, bladder pain syndrome, etc. She has been trained in surgical reconstruction using vaginal and robotic-assisted techniques. Dr. Hines is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is also board-certified in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS). She is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
