Esports is everywhere in education, rapidly growing in K-12, Further Ed and Higher Ed. An engaging, inclusive way to build STEAM and social-emotional skills, esports also helps develop students’ interest in future technology careers. In a 2020 survey of over 1,100 esports athletes conducted by GYO, over 60 per cent said that they planned to pursue a career in either a STEM or esports field.

Snow White is Intel’s Director of Education Sales Strategy for North America. With over 25 years working in the educational technology field, Snow is considered an educational thought leader with expertise around digitally transformed learning environments and creating partnerships between education and industry. Snow’s educational experience has included teaching in the classroom, owning her own K12 edtech company, curriculum development, influencing legislation supporting digital inclusion initiatives, and providing professional development and educational leadership consulting to schools internationally, Snow has accelerated momentum toward student-led and personalized learning. In addition, with the recent rise in esports in education, Snow is collaborating with school districts, state-level sports governing bodies, and leading esports industry partners so that she can bring thought leadership and best practices of esports and related career pathways to K12 and Higher Education institutions.

Stuart Walker
Head of UK Education Intel
Stuart represents Intel working with the Education community in the UK spanning School, College and University communities. Aspects of his work include supporting impactful technology adoption and digital strategy development. BETT Ahead Advisory Board Member, Stuart also leads the Intel UK efforts in supporting skills development overseeing the progress of “Skills for Innovation” and “AI for Youth” Intel Digital Readiness programmes.

Tom Dore
Head of Global Esports Academy Senior Advisor, British Esports Federation
Tom Dore is the Head of the Global Esports Academy (GEA) which is part of the Global Esports Federation, the international convening body for esports that brings together athletes, players and industry leaders in one inclusive platform. Tom is leading the GEA’s work on coaching, education, professional development and membership.

Tom is also a Senior Advisor at the British Esports Federation and led the establishment of the British Esports Student Champs, a national esports competition for schools and colleges which currently sees 570 teams playing each week on a Wednesday afterschool. He also led the development of the BTEC in Esports qualification in partnership with Pearson, the global learning company. There are now 6000 students studying these level 2 and level 3 qualifications in the UK. He is recognised as one of the leading voices in the world on esports and education.

Kalam Neale

As Head of Education at British Esports, Kalam focusses on delivering growth and development of esports in education across the UK and beyond.

Recipient of the prestigious Pearson National Teaching Award for his outstanding commitment to digital innovation, Kalam, an experienced teacher, educator and educational leader previously served as Esports Programme Lead at Barnsley College, where he co-wrote the Esports BTEC in association with Pearson and British Esports, as well as being one of the first to offer the qualification to students and participate in the British Esports Student Championships.

Kalam also serves as Director of Education at Strategic Esports Group, Trainer & Podcast Host at Pearson, Governor at Barnsley College and was a NASEF Fellow for the 2021-2022 academic year.
