We’ll reveal how pet parents behave at the shelf in-store, how they navigate e-commerce environments and even how they turn to AI for tips and tricks to better care for their pets. Beyond consumer behavior, the study provides actionable insights that inform how our client, pet nutrition firm Edgard & Cooper, engages with retail partners and guides decisions around marketing, communication and pack design. All insights were generated through the Conveo platform, leveraging adaptive AI-led video and voice interviews. These included mobile in-store shopper missions, desk-based narrative interviews and missions and Conveo’s unique multimodal and “talk to your data” capabilities – turning raw consumer moments into illustrative, strategic takeaways.

Niels Schillewaert, Ph.D., is head of research and methods at Conveo.ai, an end-to-end AI-led insights platform. Niels has combined entrepreneurship and commercial research with academic research throughout his career. He was a co-founder at Human8 (formerly InSites Consulting) and has a strong academic background as a professor of marketing at the Vlerick Business School. His research was published in leading scientific journals such as Journal of Marketing, The International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Services Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and others. Niels is a frequent speaker at international conferences and has guest-lectured at several academic institutions including Columbia, NYU and the University of Georgia. He is the former president of ESOMAR, the association of the global insights and analytics community.
