On May 25, 2018, GDPR becomes the standardized law of 27 countries in the EU. GDPR applies to all companies providing goods or services or monitoring the behavior of EU citizens or other “data subjects”, irrespective of the company’s location. GDPR applies whether or not you have a presence in the EU and it can apply merely by the use of cookies on your website. This webinar will discuss the consents that must be obtained; the expanded rights that are provided regarding the collection of personal data, including the rights to correct, port, erase, and the “right to be forgotten.” Companies must show they take privacy seriously (Privacy By Design) and companies must demonstrate and be accountable for personal data. Failure to comply with GDPR imposes harsh penalties - the greater of €20M or 4% of annual turnover for serious infringements. How will your company prepare?
