About
This presentation will outline the project implemented at a campus student health clinic to address care of LGBTQ+ individuals. During this project, evidence-based interventions were made to increase the cultural competence at the clinic. The interventions focused on staff education as well as changes within the physical environment of the clinic. Education for all staff that focused on health disparities among sexual minorities, and how to overcome these challenges was completed. In addition, steps were taken to create a welcoming, safe environment for LGBTQ+ clients. Successes and challenges from this project will be shared as well as information on how to implement culturally-competent care at other clients.
