HON Brent Ingraham
Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology) and Army Acquisition Executive
The Honorable Brent G. Ingraham, a Presidential appointee confirmed by the United States Senate, was sworn in as the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (ASA(ALT)), on September 22, 2025. In this position, Mr. Ingraham serves as the Army Acquisition Executive, the Senior Procurement Executive, the Science Advisor to the Secretary to the Army, and the Army’s Senior Research and Development official. He also has principal responsibility for all Department of the Army matters related to logistics.
Previously, Mr. Ingraham performed the duties of Deputy Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment where he was responsible to the Under Secretary of War for all matters pertaining to acquisition, contract administration, logistics and materiel readiness, installations and environment, operational energy, chemical, biological, and nuclear defense, the acquisition workforce, and the defense industrial base. He also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Platform and Weapon Portfolio Management. In this role, he was responsible for managing and analyzing major platforms and weapons capability portfolios across the Department including air, surface, cyber, and electronic warfare systems.
Mr. Ingraham’s prior experience in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment included roles serving as the Executive Director, Joint Rapid Acquisition Cell, as well as the Director of Surface Warfare. His cross service experience also included supporting Naval Warfare Center Dahlgren and Marine Corps Systems Command, where he supported the Joint Program Office for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (JPO MRAP) as the Chief Engineer for the MRAP All-Terrain Vehicle.
Prior to joining federal service in 2010, Mr. Ingraham worked in the automotive industry as a powertrain engineer, responsible for the development and production of domestic and international powertrain systems, while playing a principal role in forming global automotive partnerships.
Mr. Ingraham received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. He has received numerous citations and accolades for his contributions and dedication while in industry and during his career in the Department of War, including the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Service; Department of War Distinguished Civilian Service Award; Secretary of War Meritorious Civilian Service Award; the Navy’s Top Scientist and Engineer of the Year Award; two Joint Meritorious Unit Awards; and the Federal 100 award.
