About
Space matters — economically, strategically, and socially.  The global space market is forecast to reach $1.8 trillion by 035, forming a vital part of both economic infrastructure and national defence. In the UK alone, space-based applications already underpin 16% of GDP (£454 billion), according to the UK Space Agency.

One of the UK’s strengths lies in sophisticated software modelling — a field that is critical to understanding opportunities, testing design options, and managing risks across space missions, from rocket launches to in-orbit operations. This capability is essential to the upcoming WCIT session on Space Insurance (November), supporting the WCIT vision of positioning the City of London as the global mission control for space finance, professional services, and investment.

In this webinar, Simon Weston and Lucy Gagliardi from leading technology company ICON will showcase cutting-edge software modelling in action — sharing insights, use cases, and the transformative role of digital tools in enabling space innovation.

As a female leader in the space industry, Lucy will also discuss her journey — exploring the opportunities, challenges, and excitement of developing breakthrough technologies for space.

The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers.
