For those interested in investing or learning more about BC’s Golden Triangle, we invite you to join us for a summary of recent developments and activities happening in the region. During this session, you’ll learn why the rocks in this area are unique and so well suited to hosting mineral deposits. You’ll hear project highlights from four active companies working in the region, and you’ll come to appreciate the open and collaborative relationships that continue to grow between First Nations, the Province and Industry. We’ll also touch on the infrastructure in the region and discuss the permitting process.
The Golden Triangle is uniquely positioned for growth. It has renowned geology and proven projects, excellent infrastructure, engaged and supportive First Nation Partners and a regulatory framework that is robust and reliable.

Kendra Johnston

Kendra Johnston joined AME as President and CEO in June 2019 following several years of volunteer positions at AME including Director, Executive Director, Chair of the Board, Chair of the Roundup Committee and serving on numerous committees including the Finance Committee. Kendra is a Professional Geologist and mining executive with over 15 years of experience in various facets of the mineral exploration and mining industry primarily in BC and Yukon, and is a passionate industry advocate for responsible mineral exploration.
Michael Gray, Host MC-

Michael has over 30 years of experience in the metals and mining industry, including 15 years as one of the time mining equity research analysts in the sector. He has established a proven track record of identifying companies with potential Tier 1 assets at early stages, allowing these companies via coverage to successfully engage the capital markets while on the cusp of significant growth.
Most recently, Michael was the Managing Director and Head of the Canadian Mining Equity Research Team at Macquarie Bank, where he covered some of the sector’s top stories, including Wheaton Precious Metals, SSR Mining, Richmont Mines, MAG Silver, Gold Standard Ventures & GT Gold. Michael was the Co-Founder of Rubicon Minerals (1997) and has worked as a Geologist for Lac Minerals, Falconbridge, Falconbridge Copper & Cominco. He was President of AME (formerly BCYCM) in 1998, served on the Executive Committee for six years and Chaired the First Nations and Community Relations Committee for three years.
Prior to Agentis, Michael worked for Macquarie Capital Market Canada Ltd., Genuity Capital Markets and PI Financial. He holds a Master of Science in Economic Geology from Laurentian University and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of British Columbia.
Sean P. Tombe, M.Sc., P.Geo.
Regional Geologist
As a Regional Geologist with the British Columbia Geological Survey, Sean monitors and reports on exploration and mining activities, and provides expertise to prospectors and mineral exploration companies in Northwestern BC. He also works in his community to enhance understanding of local geoscience to foster a healthy and prosperous minerals sector. Before joining the BCGS, Sean was involved in the mineral exploration and mining industry in Northwestern BC, focusing on precious and base metal exploration and extraction. Sean has contributed to projects ranging from early-stage exploration, into mine development, construction, and production.
Peter Robb
Province of British Columbia, Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources
Peter Robb joined the Government of British Columbia in 2001, after several years working in the BC Treaty negotiations process as a consultant. He is a graduate of Bishops University (BComm) and the University of Northern British Columbia (BSc in Environmental Planning). He has spent his entire career working the natural resource sector with a focus on engaging and negotiating with First Nations in the forestry, mining and oil and gas sectors.
He has spent 15 years at the Ministry of Energy and Mines, along with a four year hiatus at the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation. Before taking his current role, he was the Executive Director of the Major Mine Permitting Office. He has held numerous positions within government ranging from regional operations, permitting to negotiating major infrastructure projects.
Derek White
Presiden & CEO, Ascot Resources
Derek White has over 30 years of experience in the mining and metals industry. He holds an undergraduate degree in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is also a Chartered Accountant. Prior to joining Ascot Resources Ltd. Mr. White, was the Principal of Traxys Capital Partners LLP, a private equity firm specializing in the mining and minerals sectors. Mr. White was President and CEO of KGHM International Ltd. from 2012 to 2015, and also held the positions of Executive Vice President, Business Development and Chief Financial Officer of Quadra FNX Mining Ltd. from 2004 to 2012. Mr. White has held executive positions with International Vision Direct Ltd., BHP-Billiton Plc, Billiton International Metals BV and Impala Platinum Ltd., in Vancouver, Toronto, London, The Hague, and Johannesburg. Mr. White is also an ICSA Accredited Director.
Shawn Khunkhun

Mr. Khunkhun has over 15 years of experience in the capital markets, mineral exploration and development sector with a focus on enhancing shareholder value. He has served in a variety of strategic roles including investor relations, corporate development, chief executive officer and director. Mr. Khunkhun has been instrumental in creating a new awareness for undervalued companies including grass roots explorers, developers and producers. Mr. Khunkhun’s experience in incubating and growing early stage companies through capital raises, acquisitions, joint ventures and spinouts, and his long-standing relationships with an extensive global network of high-net-worth investors, private equity and institutional investors, analysts, brokers, and investment bankers have been a valuable asset to growing mineral exploration companies.
Paul Harbidge, GT Gold
President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Harbidge is a geologist with over 20 years of experience in mining exploration and development. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Exploration at Goldcorp Inc. from 2016 until its acquisition by Newmont Mining Corp. in April 2019. Prior to that, Mr. Harbidge successfully led the Exploration Team at Randgold resulting in the discoveries of the Yalea Deeps project, the Gara deeps project, Loulo 3 and more recently the +5Moz Gounkoto deposit in the Loulo area of Mali and the +4Moz Massawa deposit in Senegal. Mr. Harbidge has a First-Class Honours Degree in Geology from Kingston University, London UK and an MSc in Mineral Exploration and Mining Geology from Leicester University (UK). Paul has also been involved with research in collaboration with Kingston University and has completed two PhD theses as a supervisor, supporting two further PhD theses and two MSc projects.
Walter Coles
President & Chief Executive Officer Skeena Resources
Mr. Coles has served as CEO and President for several Toronto Venture Stock Exchange listed junior mining exploration and development companies, throughout the past seven years. Mr. Coles entered the mining business as part of an effort to develop a mineral resource discovered on family farmland in Virginia. He was previously an analyst for Cadence Investment Partners, from 2005 through to 2007. Prior to that Mr. Coles worked for UBS Investment Bank in New York as a Senior Research Analyst in the bank’s High Yield Group. Mr. Coles started at UBS Investment Bank in 1999 as an Associate reporting to the bank’s Global Head of Fixed Income Strategy. Mr. Coles holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Richmond.
Corinne McKay
Nisga’a Nation
The Nisga’a Nation elected Corinne McKay to position of Secretary Treasurer in the November 2012 election and she was re-elected November of 2016. She had served as council member for Gitwinksihlkw Village Government in 2004 – 2008. Prior to that she volunteered as a Chairperson and Treasurer of the Prince Rupert Nisga’a Local.
Corinne is Ganada (Frog/Raven), of the House of Hay’maas. Her Nisga’a name is Bilaam Neekhl, meaning “Pearly Fin”. She is married to Alfred McKay of Laxgalts’ap and has two sons Will and Bertram, and daughter, Melissa and twin granddaughters. Her parents are Norma and George Morgan of Gitwinksihlkw.
