Bill began his journey with medicinal plants in 1993 as an Herb Buyer at Bread and Circus in Brighton, Massachusetts. What started as a job quickly became a lifelong calling as the plants “quietly took over.” Driven by curiosity and a deep respect for botanical medicine, Bill spent decades traveling the globe—sourcing herbs, connecting with growers and wildcrafters, and building sustainable supply chains in Eastern Europe, Central America, India, China, Indonesia, Vanuatu, and across the United States.

Bill spent many impactful years at Gaia Herbs in North Carolina, where he held roles across operations, education, and sales. His work there deepened his understanding of the botanical industry from seed to shelf. Later, he brought his expertise into academia, playing a key role in launching a molecular biology and analytical plant chemistry research station at Sonoran University of Health Sciences. There, he gained hands-on experience with in vitro research and helped bridge the gap between lab-based discovery and clinical application.

Today, Bill serves as Chief Operating Officer at Nammex, a leading producer of organic mushroom extracts based in British Columbia, Canada. His role includes overseeing research and development, with a special focus on Psilocybe mushrooms and other medicinal fungi.

Originally from a small town in Vermont, Bill is an avid fly fisherman, lifelong forager, and passionate writer of fiction and poetry. When he's not in the lab or the forest, you’ll find him enjoying music and meaningful conversation with friends.
