About
Join EPRI’s Dwayne Coffey, The Colt Group’s Jason Box and ASNT's David Bajula as they reveal how strategic assessments and smart technology integration are revolutionizing power plant maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), delivering measurable improvements in safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Discover proven MRO methodologies for identifying operational gaps and learn how to successfully integrate technology that enhances your team’s expertise.

Dwayne Coffey, Plant Management Essentials Program/Area Manager with EPRI, will give a presentation focused on operations and maintenance (O&M) assessments. Generating facilities are always seeking to improve O&M performance and create lower-cost, more-reliable, and safe electricity with minimal impact on the environment. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to understand where improvements can be achieved and what barriers must be overcome to accomplish this improvement. The EPRI Operations and Maintenance Assessment performs a non-biased observation-based assessment of operations and maintenance activities at generating facilities to identify issues in these areas using an electronic webtool with identified measurable criteria of industry best practices allowing plant management to focus resources (people and money) in the areas needed for plant improvement.

Jason Box, CEO of The Colt Group, a leak-repair and specialty mechanical services company headquartered in Pasadena, Texas, will give a presentation focused on technology and how it is transforming repair and maintenance at major industrial sites. Some operations and maintenance workers fear that technology is coming to take their jobs, but the reality is that their work is being enhanced, not replaced, by innovative technology. Jason will explain how technology is having a positive impact on plant operations by improving safety protocols, providing real-time asset monitoring insights, and proactively optimizing operations, among other things. He’ll also show how companies can enjoy these benefits through thoughtful integration of technology, combining traditional expertise with smart adoption, one operational layer at a time.
