Sonlight Mentor

Before becoming a wife and mom, Amber Severance was a high school teacher and coach at a private school in San Jose, CA. She has been homeschooling since 2002 when her oldest child began pre-k with Sonlight. Amber has five children – one attending graduate school, two in college, one in high school, and one beginning 5th grade. Because of her husband's graduate schooling and employment, she has had the opportunity to homeschool in four different states. Currently living in Lynchburg, VA, Amber is a full-time homemaker who enjoys encouraging others by serving in children's ministry, mentoring college girls, and leading a ladies' bible study.

Sonlight Mentor

Christie first encountered Sonlight Curriculum in 1997 when she was teaching the children of another family overseas. As a former classroom teacher, she was so impressed with the curriculum that in 2009 she made it her choice for educating her four sons. She and her husband have been married for twenty years and have been homeschooling with Sonlight for the past 12. They have utilized Sonlight programs from preschool to high school. Through the years they have enjoyed watching each of their boys develop a variety of interests and strengths based on their unique personalities and their learning with Sonlight. This year they will have a middle schooler and two high schoolers. Their oldest son graduated in May and is heading off for college this fall. Christie enjoys meeting and encouraging homeschooling families and helping them find solutions for the homeschool journey!

Judy Wnuk is a retired homeschool teacher of three amazing students. She spent 20+ years using literature-based learning with her own children and sharing it with families across the US and Canada through her work with Sonlight. She has a passion for encouraging parents, young and old, as they navigate the journey of raising their children. She and her husband of 36 years have enjoyed the privilege of facilitating marriage and parenting classes, and she likes nothing better than to mentor moms that God brings across her path.

Community Manager

Stephanie wears many hats but her favorites are being a mom to two amazing kids and wife to her college sweetheart. She loves to adventure with her family, traveling all over Colorado and beyond. She is an avid afterschooler and volunteers much of her time in her local community. As Sonlight's community manager, she enjoys encouraging and enriching homeschools through conversations, content, and community.
