We’ll discuss why they decided to develop their financial education provision, the various ways that they integrated it across different year groups and its impact on their pupils.

Russell began his career as an accountant within the Lloyds insurance market, before moving into education. His time teaching highlighted the need for all young people to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes beyond the traditional academic learning and prompted the decision to join the charitable sector supporting schools to address this. Russell now oversees all of Young Money's programmes and services.

Sara began her career in teaching 4 years ago within the LEO Academy Trust. While teaching in KS2, she became aware of the lack of teaching and children’s awareness of the skills and attitudes towards the value of money. In 2019, the school embarked on a journey to become a Centre of Excellence in Financial Education with the help of Young Money & Young Enterprise. They were successful in achieving the award accreditation and are really enjoying sharing their experiences and the importance of financial education within many schools.
