WEBINAR DETAILS
  • About
Following the pandemic, primary care resources are stretched more than ever, with GP surgeries experiencing significant strain with rising demand and paediatric patients having to wait longer for appointments. This situation presents a need to learn about methods to deliver better patient outcomes and help secure better value from existing resources.

In this webinar, Lisa Phillips-German, a Paediatric Nurse Consultant will present how her specialist paediatric clinic assesses, diagnoses and manages feeding issues such as functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGID) and cows’ milk protein allergy (CMA) in a primary care setting.

Lisa will share the success of her clinic and how they have managed to empower and support parents and carers, strengthening service provision in the community and reducing A&E admissions.

Produced by the Best Practice Show.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE:

SMA® Nutrition Study Days are designed to provide educational support to Healthcare Professionals working in infant and maternity care. They are run in accordance with the aims and principles of the WHO Code for the Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes and also comply with the UK regulations.

We are committed to ensuring that healthcare professionals are always fully aware of the purpose of these events. Any references to product information at the meeting are highlighted on the agenda (which is always included with the invitation) and are based on scientific and factual information.

Mothers should be encouraged to continue breastfeeding even when their infants have CMPA. This usually requires qualified dietary counselling to completely exclude all sources of cows’ milk protein from the mothers’ diet. If a decision to use a special formula intended for infants is taken, it is important to give instructions on correct preparation methods, emphasising that unboiled water, unsterilised bottles or incorrect dilution can all lead to illness.

Formula for special medical purposes intended for infants must be used under medical supervision.
