Andrew
Head of Engineering Capability - Software and Data Science
In my 27 years at BAE Systems starting as an Engineering Assistant, I’ve been fortunate to embrace countless opportunities, and my approach has always been simple: never say no to a challenge. Every new role has taught me something valuable, and I’ve learned that you’re never alone, there’s always someone willing to help if you ask.
From leading the transfer of software rigs from Yeovil, to managing Typhoon Displays & Controls rigs, to pioneering Ethernet integration as part of the SPEAR activity and even contributing to design reviews for Submarines and Space. I’ve had the chance to work across diverse areas and push boundaries. More recently, supporting our early careers community has been incredibly rewarding. My advice? Opportunities are everywhere. Be bold, take that leap, and trust that growth happens outside your comfort zone.
