About
Biomarkers play a pivotal role in modern life science research, from identifying disease signatures to guiding therapeutic development and monitoring treatment response. In this multi-perspective webinar, hear from experts applying unique strategies, tools, and analytical techniques to move biomarker discovery and application forward.

Sarah Kotanchiyev, MLS (ASCP)CM
Field Application Scientist, Slingshot Biosciences

Sarah Kotanchiyev, MLS (ASCP)CM will discuss how Slingshot Biosciences’ precision-engineered cell mimics are advancing biomarker-driven research. These innovative controls provide a more reliable, reproducible, and scalable alternative to biological controls, reducing variability in biomarker assays and improving standardization across flow cytometry and other cell-based applications.

Sunghyun Huh, PhD
Head of Bioinformatics, Bertis Inc.

During the webinar, Sunghyun Huh,PhD will present key insights into three critical areas. First, he will demonstrate omics analysis, with a particular focus on the proteomic approach for uncovering biological phenomena. Second, he will highlight strategies for identifying disease-specific biomarkers, which have the potential to serve as both diagnostic and therapeutic signatures. Lastly, the presentation will delve into deciphering the molecular mechanisms underlying these biomarkers, providing a clearer understanding of their efficacy and applicability in clinical settings. Each topic will be presented with study cases conducted at Bertis.

Julie Ann Mayer, PhD
Vice President, Global Biomarker Platform, Crown Bioscience

Join Julie to delve into the evolving landscape of clinical biomarker services and translational oncology solutions. She will explore how an integrated approach - combining access to clinically relevant tumor materials with advanced biomarker analysis - unlocks deeper insights into cancer biology and therapeutic response. Discover real-world applications and case studies that demonstrate how Crown’s end-to-end services are accelerating oncology drug development, from early discovery through clinical translation.

Key topics will include:

  • Understand how cell mimics overcome challenges with biological controls to improve biomarker assay reliability.

  • Learn how ViaComp® and SpectraComp™ controls enhance standardization, stability, and reproducibility in flow cytometry-based biomarker detection.

  • Utilizing proteomic analysis to identify phenotypic signatures associated with disease states and biological processes.

  • Deciphering molecular mechanisms underlying identified signatures to provide a deeper understanding of disease physiology and pathophysiological pathways.

  • Discover how Crown Bioscience sources and applies clinically relevant biospecimens as part of a broader biomarker service offering to drive discovery and validation.

  • Explore how predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarker strategies are applied to streamline cancer drug development and enable effective patient stratification.

  • Learn how Crown’s comprehensive service portfolio—including biospecimen access, molecular profiling, and clinical biomarker analysis—advances translational oncology programs.
