Stephen Briers has been an automotive business journalist for more than 30 years, starting his career with vehicle accident repair title Body Magazine in 1993.

He joined Emap in 1998 and was editor of leading franchised dealer publication Automotive Management from 2002-2009 during which time he was named Emap Automotive’s editor of the year.

Sarah Wellstead

Sarah Wellstead is Senior Fleet Coordinator at Hoare Lea, representing the small car only fleets. She is responsible for driving compliance and safety, the historic company car scheme, the implementation and management of salary sacrifice, and the organisation’s sustainable mobility strategy. Over the past decade she has helped lead the fleet transition from 1% BEV in December 2015)to 96% BEV by December 2025, the bulk of this transition in the past 6 years. Before children, Sarah was an account manager in the parcel industry.

Passionate about decarbonisation and cost effective solutions, Sarah is an early adopter at home; in her second winter with a heat pump, approaching her first anniversary with solar PV and battery storage, and a proud owner of a 2017 Nissan Leaf. She is committed to sharing practical knowledge about renewable technologies to help more people benefit and to support collective action on the climate emergency.
