Did you know that 17 billion pounds of office furniture and equipment end up in US landfills each year? That is the equivalent of 1/3 of all cars sold across the country. Realizing this is not a “me” problem, how can “we” as an industry be part of the solution?

In this webinar, Dianne Murata and Joanna Toler of Kimiko Green, an alliance of facility owners and managers dedicated to surfacing landfill alternatives, will deep dive into the effects of fast furniture, ways to circularity, and how a small group of committed individuals is paving the way to a more sustainable future. Whether you’re just getting started or already have established sustainability processes, this webinar will highlight best practices for furniture decommissioning, share insights into commercial furniture lifecycles and the challenges of disposition, and offer practical tips through case studies. Attendees will walk away with a comprehensive list of resources, from emerging technologies to organizations and non-profits, shaping the future of furniture sustainability.

Following the 45-minute presentation, there will be a 15-minute live Q&A joined by Humanscale’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Jane Abernethy.
