Jawoo Koo is a Senior Research Fellow of the Environment and Production Technology Division at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). He has more than 20 years of experience in multi-disciplinary geospatial datasets and integrated modeling analyses. He received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department in University of Florida, specialized in the process-based crop modeling applications in smallholders’ farming systems in Africa South of the Sahara. He co-pioneered CGIAR Platform for Big Data in Agriculture program and coordinates CGIAR Consortium for Spatial Information, a Community of Practice of geospatial scientists across CGIAR and partners.
