About the Speakers

Dr. Jeffrey Schachar graduated magna cum laude from the Brooklyn College Honors Academy in New York City, where he was accepted into their prestigious B.A. - M.D. joint program. Dr. Schachar earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and was awarded both the Brooklyn College Presidential Scholarship and the Peter Vallone Academic Achievement Scholarship for his academic excellence. He was also inducted into Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology, and graduated as a member of the Dean’s List.

Dr. Schachar continued his training at the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York, where he received his degree of Doctor of Medicine. During his medical training, Dr. Schachar simultaneously carried out extensive research at New York University, for which he was awarded the Alumni Fund Research Fellowship Scholarship.

Dr. Schachar completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at North Shore University Hospital & Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. In recognition of his exceptional performance in the field of urogynecology as a resident, Dr. Schachar won the esteemed American Urogynecologic Society Resident Scholarship Award, which was awarded to six residents nationally. Upon graduation from residency, Dr. Schachar received the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Resident Achievement Award for his mastery of laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques. In his chief year of residency, Dr. Schachar was named a “Teaching Associate” in recognition of his commitment to educating residents and medical students.

Dr. Schachar then completed two years of fellowship training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida and completed his final year of fellowship training at Wake Forest Baptist Health in North Carolina. During his fellowship training, Dr. Schachar received tremendous accolades and recognition for his commitment to research. Dr. Schachar was also awarded a “Caregiver Celebration Award” for providing exceptional patient care. Dr. Schachar’s diverse educational background afforded him the opportunity to train with several nationally and internationally renowned vaginal, urologic and robotic pelvic surgeons.
