WEBINAR ENDED
A quaint seaside patchwork of towns perched on the hills surrounding the southern end of Monterey Bay along the central California coast have been the residence of such creatives as Ansel Adams, Salvador Dali, John Steinbeck, and Jimmy Hendrix. Today, the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and the golf world's premier course Pebble Beach draw visitors from around the world. But Monterey has a wide array of wildlife that can be observed and photographed from the adorable and endangered southern sea otter to the up to 30,000 shorebirds that migrate through the area on their way up and down the Pacific Flyway. Off the coast is the "Serengeti of the Sea," where rich ocean upwellings bring together over 33 species of marine mammals including humpback whales, Risso dolphins, Steller and California sea lions, and a plethora of others. Join Alyce Bender, Wildside Nature Tour photography leader and Tamron Ambassador, as she shares a bit of history, ecology, and, of course, images from the Monterey area.
