Before joining Edward Jones, J R was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and a deputy program manager for the Korean F-16 Fighter Program. He is a member of Columbia Rotary South and the Mid Missouri Retired Military Officers Association and serves on the Missouri MOST 529 Board.

JJ served in the US Army for six years on active duty and was mobilized and deployed to Afghanistan. In 2009, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve. JJ is part of USAA's Military Affairs Advocacy Group and is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner (CFP™).
He is a native of Kansas City and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy. JJ has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.
