About the Speaker

1600270322-2fc31aa1a9cc8279 Sandy Macaskill
Co-Founder, Barry's UK

Sandy Macaskill co-founded Barry's UK 7 years ago and is established as one of the UK’s most influential fitness people. Having led the boutique fitness trend in this country, his opinions on the health and wellbeing scene are sought after by brands and publications across the country.
A fitness, tennis, sub aqua and football instructor, over the last decade Sandy has trained everyone, from complete first-timers to supermodels, A-list celebrities and special forces soldiers. In case anyone tried to accuse him of taking it easy, he also spent four years covering elite sport as a correspondent for The Daily Telegraph and, briefly, The New York Times, before partnering with his brother James to bring Barry’s Bootcamp to the UK.

From starting a trend back in 2013 with the UK's first boutique fitness studio, to now opening Barry's UK's 8th studio, Sandy has been at the forefront of every brand decision. This has included the recent Barry's Cares initiative to offer complimentary workouts, mental health support, kids classes, meal planning and storytime for those who needed it and the fundraising of over £60k for NHS Charities Together and Show Racism the Red Card all throughout lockdown.
