PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

This webinar will be presented by an agency rep for the state taxing department. State tax law updates and common tax issues will be discussed. There will be a Q&A session at the end. Please submit any questions you may currently have beforehand to admin@vasea.org.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of state tax returns

Program Level: Basic

Objectives:
• Identify recent tax law changes for the state
• Identify common and recurrent tax issues for the state
• Learn how to get various issues with state tax returns resolved

Refund Policy
Refunds will be honored if written notification is received at the Administrative Office up to 5 days prior to the date of the course. A processing fee of $25 will be deducted from the refund. If the total registration fee was less than $25, no refund will be granted. Transferring the registration to another individual is allowed up to 5 days prior to the program date. Transfers or cancellations within 5 days of the course will not be accepted. “No Shows” forfeit their fees. Cancellation
VASEA reserves the right to cancel any program or course for circumstances that are not under direct control of VASEA. If a course or program is cancelled, registrants will be notified via email at the address listed on their registration form.

Edward Shumaker is a trainer for the North Carolina Department of Revenue’s Knowledge, Education & Outreach Division (KEO) and has been with the Department since 2014. He has held multiple roles with the agency, which include a Customer Service Representative, a Quality Assurance Analyst, and now an Education Officer. The KEO training team conducts taxpayer education initiatives across North Carolina to increase voluntary taxpayer compliance by providing customers with high quality resources and educational services. Edward graduated from New Mexico State University with a major in Criminal Justice.
