This presentation will cover the biology of addiction, common psychological theory and research related to compulsion and addiction, and key factors to consider when dealing with a person with these issues. The psychological and social consequences of Internet sexual behavior will be explored as well.
Aaron Myers, Psy.D.
Dr. Myers is a licensed psychologist. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. Since, Dr. Myers has worked at Valliere & Counseling Associates/Forensic Treatment Services providing individual and group counseling and performing evaluations for a wide range of forensically related issues. His primary focus has been on the assessment and treatment of violent and sexual offenders and their victims. Dr. Myers has a special interest in cognitive-behavioral therapy and places extra emphasis on the values of safety, honesty, accountability, and responsibility.
