There is significant debate about compulsive sexual behaviors. Do they represent addiction? What is the difference between compulsion and addiction? What are the social consequences of mislabeling behavior? What are the psychological and social consequences of compulsive sexual Internet use? This presentation will cover the biology of addiction, common psychological theory and research related to compulsion and addiction, and key factors to consider when dealing with a person with these issues. The psychological and social consequences of Internet sexual behavior will be explored as well.

    Dr. Myers is a licensed psychologist. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. His primary focus has been on the assessment and treatment of violent and sexual offenders and their victims.
