    TRU Wellness Coordinator
Chelsea (she/her) is a registered nurse and tenured faculty member within the Counselling, Academic Support, and Assessment Department (CASA) at Thompson Rivers University (TRU). Her practice and pedagogy is rooted in feminist, anti-oppressive, and survivor/person-centered theories, and is influenced by health promotion, social determinants of health, community development, and harm reduction frameworks. Her role as Vice-President of the Kamloops Sexual Assault Counselling Centre (KSACC) has increased her literacy about survivorship and the impact of violence at the individual, community, and systems levels. She hopes that this panel will increase community members' knowledge about violence in order to enact collective community change, including preventing violence and providing appropriate and trauma-informed support for survivors.

Kamloops YMCA-YWCA Stopping the Violence Outreach
I graduated from the Social Work program at Thompson Rivers University in 2012 and I have found my passion working at the YMCA-YWCA in the Violence Against Women Intervention and Support Services department since August 2013. I started my current role as a Stopping the Violence Outreach Worker in 2014. Throughout my years I have learned and continue to learn so much about gendered based violence and how to support women who have or are experiencing violence. I practice with a strong foundation in an anti-oppressive feminist framework working along side people to meet them where they are at, advocate and empower them. I do my best to hold space, help problem solve any barriers they may encounter and provide information about resources available. This work means a great deal to me and I am grateful to be invited as a presenter.
