Coercive Control: Emerging Trends, Dynamics, and Best Practices

Wednesday, May 3, 2023 · 11:00 a.m. · Eastern Time (US & Canada)
About This Webinar

This 90 minute training provides extensive insight into the dynamics of coercive control as well as the movement to name, respond to, and prevent this lesser understood form of abuse.

Google trends helps us visualize increased focus on this corner of the field of domestic violence. Over the past 5 years, we have seen an 80% increase in the google search "coercive control examples" and a 60% increase in "coercive control laws." What exactly is coercive control? And why is everyone suddenly taking a collective interest in it?

Connecticut, in many ways, is a leading example of the fight to address, stop, and prevent coercion. Hear from The Center for Family Justice's Director of Education and Community Engagement on all of these questions and more as we dive deep into the topic.

This is a perfect training for curious community members, service providers, public safety and emergency response professionals, students, and community leaders.

For more questions about the training or for help in registering, please contact Amanda Posila at aposila@centerforfamilyjustice.org.
