When considering the ways a user will perceive and interact with a product, it's the responsibility of both the researcher and the product owner to ensure that it's desirable and usable for it's targeted audience. Whilst always aiming to perform at the best of it's ability, it's important to keep note of a product's room for growth and development and to consistently strive to meet these changing user requirements.
Following a user-centred design process helps keep your product's best interests aligned with realistic and attainable goals. This also ensures that the user and their need for the product is considered alongside the product owner's original intentions behind creating it.
By consistently researching, evaluating, developing and refining your product, your company will evolve alongside it and your users will recognise this growth.
For this event, we'll be joined by some amazing speakers who'll be deep diving into their own experiences with their products and product teams. We'll also be looking into how UX plays an integral part in the overall design process and how best to analyse your findings to the further inform your product development. This is not one to be missed!
Featuring:
Panel Host: Sunil Pithwa - Senior UX Designer, Aviva
Diana Takorska- Product Director, Vinted
Noah Abbott - CEO and Founder, Usertopia
Ant Johnson - Managing Director, UsertopiaBridging The Gap Between Digital and Physical Products
We both originally come from a physical product design background. When we first made the switch to digital product design we realised that although the output looks totally different, there are a lot of overlapping methods to the design process itself. A good user-centred design process, followed properly, can easily be adapted to any type of product.
Despite the fact that the processes are so similar, in reality we seem to experience many bad marriages between physical and digital especially when we step away from the big tech giants such as Apple and Google. Research and testing practices have been utilised in the automotive industry for some time, so why does almost every car infotainment system suck? The same could be said about the retail industry and kiosks, or any number of other scenarios. Why do we still treat physical and digital design so differently and why are physical and digital teams kept so far apart when in theory there is no need for them to be.
Budgets tend to be far bigger in the physical product space, is this leaving the digital experiences that assist these physical products as an after thought?
Our Product & UX talk aims to educate on how to better integrate physical and digital product teams with each other to ensure that with the growing importance of digital products, the user experience isn't let down by focussing on its physical counterpart. We will cover the differences and similarities between the physical and digital process, including the impact of Usertopia's main values - ethics, inclusivity and sustainability.

New ways of measuring Experience
This will be a practical session providing you with tangible ways of accurately measuring experience. We’ll together review the existing metrics out there, the pros and cons of them and look into the details of where to measure, when to do it, who to ask and how to capture and analyse experience.
Maximising Research, Minimising Effort on Product Design Processes.
With product designers covering the UX/UI and in some cases coding, how do you ensure insight is still a priority and guides all decision making? We’ll share ways of gathering insight without affecting overall timelines on sprint processes.
