This course explores the concepts of community property and how it is treated when a married couple chooses to file separately and the tax implications associated with that. While there are several states that are community property, we will not focus solely on one but will do a broad overview. Objectives include:
· Discuss community property law
· Review the states that require it
· Discuss the Married Filing Separately and what it means for tax payers
· Review strategies for helping out in community property states and completing
