PROF ROGER MCINTYRE
MD, FRCPC, Keynote Speaker
Roger McIntyre is a Professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology at the University of Toronto and
Head of the Mood Disorders Psychopharmacology Unit at the University Health Network, Toronto, Canada. He is involved in multiple research endeavours which primarily aim to characterize the phenomenology, neurobiology, and novel therapeutics of mood disorders. Roger has been especially interested in identifying innovative, rapid acting psychotropic treatments for mood disorders. His research has also extended into public health and implementation research at the population-based level. He is a highly sought-after speaker at both national and international meetings.
PROF MALCOLM HOPWOOD
MBBS, MPM, MD, FRANZCP, Guest Speaker
Malcolm Hopwood is currently the Ramsay Health Care Professor of Psychiatry, University of
Melbourne. He provides inpatient care within the Professorial Psychiatry Unit as well as
outpatient consultations focused on second psychiatric opinions. Malcolm has a long track record of involvement in psychiatric research, including clinical aspects of mood and anxiety disorders, psychopharmacology and psychiatric aspects of acquired brain injury. Malcolm was President of the RANZCP from 2015 to 2017. He is now President of the Asian Federation of Psychiatric Associations and in 2017 was made an Honorary Member of the World Psychiatric Association.
A/PROF JUDY HOPE
MBBS, MPM, PhD, FRANZCP, Guest Speaker
Judy Hope is a psychiatrist and researcher in mental health services, suicide prevention and
psychopharmacology. She has worked extensively across public and private services. Judy is
committed to research that underpins high quality service delivery and psychopharmacological care of people with mental health challenges. Most recently, she has headed mental health research at Eastern Health in Melbourne, and has run the tracking of emergency mental health related presentations of COVID-19. She has participated in various research publications and conference presentations both in Australia and overseas.
Gin Malhi is Professor of Psychiatry at The University of Sydney and the Director of the CADE Clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. His clinical research centres on mood disorders and suicide and he has a particular interest in diagnosis, neuroimaging and the therapeutic use of lithium. He has published over 600 articles and books and has been recognised amongst the top 1% most highly cited researchers worldwide. Gin is the Editor of Bipolar Disorders, the official journal of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD), and the Editorials Editor of The British Journal of Psychiatry. He is currently the President of ISBD and has served as the chair of the committee that developed both the 2020 RANZCP Clinical Practice Guidelines for mood disorders.
Dr Sanil Rege

Sanil Rege is renowned as a motivational training facilitator who promotes interaction and discussion. As the Academic Lead of Psych Scene and Chief Editor of Psych Scene Hub, he aspires to make a difference in mental health by empowering Healthcare Professionals to advance their skills and career through specialised training. Sanil is also founder of Vita Healthcare, a private clinic in Mount Eliza specialising in mental health. He has over 10 years of private practice experience treating disorders across the spectrum, currently working in the community, inpatient, consultation-liaison and addiction psychiatry.
