Matt Bacon graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and again in 2011 with Master of Science in Education in Workforce Education and Development.

Prior to attending SIU Carbondale, Matt was in the United States Air Force and served in the Kosovo Conflict, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Beginning in 2007, he held various administrative positions at SIU Carbondale for the Registrar’s Office improving and optimizing campus spaces and for Extended Campus connecting place-bound students to SIU degree programs offered online and across the nation to prepare them for the workforce.

He most recently served as the Director of Academic Programs in Extended Campus and now serves as the Director of Post-secondary programming for the South Central Workforce Development Board, connecting soon-to-be and recent college graduates to careers across the 10-county region known as southcentral Kentucky.
