India is rapidly emerging as a significant contributor to global scholarly output, with research publications growing at an unprecedented pace. However, this growth brings with it pressing challenges the rise of AI-assisted writing tools, predatory publishing practices, paper mills, and evolving authorship norms are reshaping the research landscape in ways that many institutions are yet to fully grapple with.

Sh. Dinesh Ranjan Pradhan is a Scientist-C in Library Science who holds a B.Sc. and an M.L.I.Sc. from Utkal University, Odisha. Associated with the INFLIBNET Centre since October 2007, he is currently active in the E-Resource Access and Management Group, where he oversees key initiatives including the e-ShodhSindhu Consortium, the recently launched One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative, the INDCAT Database, and the Research Data Management Group, among several other projects.

His areas of expertise span e-resource management, library automation, open-source software in library science, and open access initiatives.

Dr. Mouboni Dutta is a Research Integrity Auditor within Elsevier’s Research Integrity and Publishing Ethics Centre of Expertise. In her current role, she leads large-scale audits which involves publishing ethics investigations across journals, coordinating with stakeholders, and upholding ethical standards across scholarly publishing.
